A free app for Chrome, by SwiftRead.
SwiftRead is a speed reading extension for the Chrome browser. It works on articles, blog posts, and emails. You can also use SwiftRead on your Kindle book pages, or on PDFs, ePUBs, even on Kindle Cloud Reader.
The speed reading technique used by SwiftRead is called Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, or RSVP. The speed of reading depends on how quickly a person can visualize a sequence of images.
SwiftRead eliminates the subvocalization, or the inner voice that sounds each word out, to help you read faster.
SwiftRead works by taking advantage of the way that humans read. We don't really see the words in a text, but rather, we see a series of images and then make a guess as to what the words mean. So, by showing a series of images, SwiftRead will help the reader to guess the words faster and more accurately.
In addition to reading speed, SwiftRead will help the reader to learn more, to understand the text better.
